#OYMYAKON, the #coldestTown on #earth, #Russia 1



The town is located in the Russian republic of Yakutia in Siberia, on a
plateau 750 meters above sea level. The winter last for 9 months here. The climate is extreme because the mountain ranges surrounding it prevents the heavy cold air masses that cover the valley to escape.


If you get up in the morning and you see that the temperature outside is -71 ° C,
for sure you live in Oymyakon. (Although we should clarify, that this extreme temperature was reached only once; in 1926.)







Its population of 2200 inhabitants lives far from the amenities that usualy cities provide.
 The students attend classes only if the temperature does not fall 
under -52 ° C.
